Bakery Manager, Simsbury

Position Description:

Total oversight of the production and packaging of cannabis infused products.  Completing all edibles baking and packaging tasks in an efficient, timely, and safe manner.  The Bakery Manager will report directly to the Director of Processing. Some of the daily tasks may include, but are not limited to:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Ensure safe practices for staff using the kitchen equipment. .

Manage the daily activities of the bakery staff.

Develop baking production schedules as required.

Participate in production planning team meetings.

Ensure that proper infusion calculations and exact measurements of ingredients are being used.

Maintain proper organization of supplies.

Update all Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P’s) as needed.

Document in written form all recipes.

Ensure that supplies are ordered in a timely manner and are available when needed.

Ensure that Packaging and Labeling of edible products meet required regulations.

Maintain accurate records of supplies used and products produced.

Ensure that all required data is entered daily into the inventory tracking system.

Research and Development of new products.

Ensure that all team members follow health and sanitation codes Ø Ensure the kitchen inventory is secured as required by regulations.

Assist with implementation of and then ensure compliance with GMP and SQF requirements


Employment Requirements:

•       Must be 21 years of age

•       Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week

•       Punctual, meticulous, reliable

•       3-5 years minimum experience baking on a large production scale

•       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay on task

•       Management experience required



•       Excellent communication skills

•       Strong team leadership skills

•       Positive attitude and teamwork oriented

•       Be flexible and willing to pitch-in wherever needed

•       Organized planning capability

Physical Requirements:

 Work may require prolonged sitting/standing, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate kitchen equipment. Requires normal range of hearing. Requires close vision with the ability to see color and adjust focus. Requires lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally.
