Job Description

The Curaleaf NJ, Inc. Facilities Supervisor, will report to the Facilities Manager. He/She will be  responsible to ensure that our production and retail facilities are maintained to the highest standards. Because our facilities and locations are diverse with new construction and new equipment he/she will assist in being responsible for overseeing the physical condition and ensuring that the facilities are maintained and are operating to the highest standard possible. 

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager you will work with employees, managers, contractors, vendors and suppliers. You will be expected to diagnose, repair and manage service contractors. You are accountable for all aspects of facilities management including compliance with standards of operations and administration, the protection of company assets, and adherence with all company policies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing, directing and coordinating the activities of contracted personnel or third parties who are providing services or performing work at the Curaleaf NJ, Inc facility
  • Assist in ensuring the adherence to project scope, safety requirements and prescribed procedures
  • Must be highly competent in small appliance repair: eg: toasters, warmers, fryers, grills,
  • Experience with minor electrical, refrigeration, HVAC is expected
  • Roof tops and all gutter systems must be kept clean and check regularly
  • All drain lines and drip pans for dehumidification and HVAC systems in cure, dry and cultivation rooms must be keep clean and disinfected regularly
  • All dehumidification and HVAC equipment must be kept clean on all surfaces inside and outside the unit, especially in the veg and grow rooms
  • Works with the Facilities Manager to develop a maintenance plan under the direction of the Operations Director/Cultivation Director for all dehumidification and HVAC equipment. Including but not limited to filter changes and scheduling regular service calls
  • Manages and inspects buildings and evaluates use of space and facilities; including the detection of existing or potential accident and health hazards, determining corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
  • Analyzes and monitors facilities’ systems – mechanical, HVAC, lighting, security and other building systems for proper and safe operations, proper maintenance practices and potential cost savings.
  • Responds to facility and equipment alarms and system failures
  • Communicates project statuses daily to the Facilities Manager
  • Works within the budget provided by the Facilities Manager to maintain a cost effective and efficient operation of all building systems
  • Assists in overseeing scheduling of preventative maintenance, contracted maintenance and general maintenance with minimum disruption of building services
  • Maintain OSHA compliance in all facilities 
  • Understand the engineering design and operation aspect of each building system
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations (such as fire, evacuation, equipment failures, etc.) 
  • Assists in performing regular site visits to evaluate facility conditions and identify potential repairs and facility maintenance projects at the direction of the Facilities Manager
  • Coordinates with the Facilities Manager for inclement weather preparations
  • Maintain exceptional appearance of Curaleaf NJ’s physical buildings and grounds
  • Performs other duties as assigned and aids co-workers as directed by owner/operator
  • Must have experience in small equipment repair, electrical, refrigeration, and plumbing
  • Must have general knowledge of all other construction disciplines

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in facilities operations and management
  • Strong work ethic, team participation, service skills and excellent oral and written communication 
  • Innate desire to achieve success 
  • Ability to critically think and problem solve without direction
  • High level of integrity

Language Skills

Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must display professional telephone etiquette and be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry our instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
