Elixinol Gives Back: Wounded Warrior Project

It’s officially summer, and what better way to kick it off than with much-needed rest and relaxation over a long weekend? Long weekends are also an excellent time to restock your favorite CBD products. And this Memorial Day weekend, we’re donating 5% of all purchases to the Wounded Warrior Project .

The Wounded Warrior project helps the United States’s warriors transition back into civilian life, offering them support at every level, every step of the way. The organization supports military members who have served since September 11, 2001, and sustained a mental or physical wound, illness, or injury in the line of duty.

According to the Wounded Warrior Project, over 52,000 military members have been injured recently during military conflict. Half a million live with wounds no one can see, including mental illness. And 320,000 have sustained trauma to the brain, and live with the lasting consequences.

These issues profoundly affect our warriors’ quality of life as they make the transition from the military back to everyday civilian life.

Elixinol Medical Advisor Dr. Philip Blair, MD, COL Recommends CBD for Veterans

Dr. Philip Blair, MD, COL (ret. US Army) is Elixinol’s Medical Advisor and a former military doctor. He has conducted pre-clinical trials using CBD with a wide array of people from different backgrounds. He has observed the positive impact CBD has had on the lives of many, including veterans.

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a natural, hemp-derived dietary supplement that supports the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is a series of cannabinoid receptors involved in maintaining the body’s homeostasis.

The ECS produces its own natural cannabinoids, but these days, most people have a starved ECS; meaning, we don’t consume enough of the plants that contain cannabinoids. We may need to replenish those cannabinoids, and CBD is a fantastic way to nourish the ECS.

Through its support of the ECS, CBD may help us roll with the punches from day to day, and could provide relief of temporary signs of sleeplessness , physical discomfort, and being off our A-game from time to time. CBD is non-intoxicating (it won’t get you high because it’s hemp-derived and contains less than 0.3% THC) and non-addictive.

Dr. Blair recommends Elixinol Hemp CBD Extract Liposomes as a starting tincture for those who are new to CBD. He recommends beginning with the serving size on the bottle (5 pumps). Because CBD has a positive safety profile, Dr. Blair recommends increasing your serving size as needed. Read more about CBD serving sizes here .

Elixinol is proud to be a part of the family of donors who help to encourage, empower, and support these warriors on their recovery journeys. Together, we can help each warrior move on to his or her next mission.
